Tasting Notes: On the nose, expect a vibrant and youthful explosion of red fruits like cherries and pomegranate. Hints of potpourri add a touch of floral complexity, while oyster shell minerality and coffee notes add depth. The palate reflects the nose, offering a continuation of red fruits with additional nuances of marjoram, violet, and white pepper. The wine is described as elegant and expressive, with a touch of smokiness and a spicy mineral streak lingering on the finish.

Discover the Winery: Alvaro Palacios

Alvaro Palacios, a visionary vintner from a renowned Rioja family (Palacios Remondo), ventured beyond his heritage to forge his own path. After studying in Bordeaux and working at the prestigious Château Pétrus, he returned to Spain in 1989. In Priorat, south of Barcelona, he co-founded the "Gratallops Project," acquiring vineyards and sharing facilities with fellow winemakers. His goal, some say, was to create a Spanish wine rivaling icons like Château Pétrus and Grange. With his acclaimed wines – Finca Dofí, L'Ermita, and Les Terrasses – he achieved just that. Palacios, alongside Sisseck (Pingus) and Rodriguez (Toro), became a leader of Spain's "new generation" winemakers. His cult-status wines garner rave reviews, with wine specialist John Radford calling Les Terrasses "excellent," Finca Dofí "outstanding," and L'Ermita "unbelievable."
